Lafayette Aviators

MKE Sports, the overseer of several prospect league franchises, has an irresistible value-add that entertains families in small and medium towns throughout America: provide elite collegiate athletes a platform to showcase their skills and stay fresh in the off season. The prospect league was born from that idea. iNET Web markets several of the teams in the prospect league including the Kokomo Jackrabbits.

The Aviators faced different marketing challenges than the Jackrabbits. The Aviators started in New York as the Jamestown Jammers. Around 2015, MKE Sports forecasted more profitability in the south central region and expanded the franchise to Louisiana. The Jammers were popular in New York, so MKE Sports needed to capitalize on the momentum. MKE Sports contacted the expert communicators at iNET Web for SEO-optimized buzz marketing.  

Website Dilemmas

Before they contacted iNET, the Aviators had a rudimentary single-page website. It informed fans well enough but lacked user interaction, which increases page ranks. User experience was poor as well because navigation was limited and the site was text heavy.

iNET Web launched the new franchise with a crisp modular site that emphasized the Aviator’s schedule on the homepage, which our research indicated was the most desired information from fans and users. Now, the special events schedule is listed near the top of the site with compelling full color illustrations designed by iNET’s graphic artists. The next team the Aviators will challenge is listed twice “above the fold” of the website in two different ways for swift attainment of information. Aviator’s fans appreciated the intuitive interface because it simplified planning. Easier planning for families resulted in more families in the ballpark and the momentum and buzz MKE Sports needed.
